By: Steve Burns , and others. Take a moment to look over your books about investing. Have any of them given you a successful method for making profits and reducing risks? Is there even one such book that has proven reliable over the years?
Alas, most investors would say no. That's because so few investment books are classic in the true sense: For years investors keep buying the book, and they keep using the method to make the most of their opportunities. Three decades ago - - is one of the last times an investment book was written that is worthy of being called classic.
One of the two men who authored that book was a year-old market analyst working at Merrill Lynch's headquarters on Wall Street. The young man had earned a lot of attention in a short time by using a forecasting tool that almost no one had heard of. Yet his market forecasts were startlingly accurate: Robert Prechter was the young man's name, and he used a method called the Elliott Wave Principle.
Frost was one of the few other financial professionals who used the Wave Principle. In a distinguished year career, Frost had likewise made many astonishingly accurate forecasts. His colleagues regarded him as the consummate technical analyst. Frost and Prechter met in May of and became fast friends. The Dow Industrials stood at But the brash forecast in this new book called for a great bull market. It became a runaway best seller.
Elliott Wave International is proud to present the 10th edition of this investment classic. It's designed to help the Elliott Wave novice and the veteran practitioner. Please note: The audio references supplemental material that is not included with the purchase of this audiobook. This book is a great way to learn about Elliot Wave. Personally I don't find wave theory to be perfect but it does help supplement chart understanding of those who have an interest in Dow theory. The three stages of bull markets can become more apparent on the chart if you understand both Dow and wave theory.
I did buy the print version of this book some years ago and was happy to find the audio version of this book as a review of the wave theory as I don't get as much time to physically read anymore I thought listening would be great. Upon beginning to listen even though I still have retained knowledge on the theory it was hard to follow without the print version nearby, so I'd reiterate that this audiobook is best supplemented with a visual form of this book.
With out pictures or graphs this audio book is useless. They talk about illustrations every page. The pace was good, the information was well supported with illustrations. Without all the images this audiobook is completely worthless. Would not advice to buy this. I don't think this makes a good audio book. The subject matter is very complex and discusses reviewing charts, etc.
Seems it would make a much better book where you can actually see and review the charts.

The Elliott wave principle is a form of technical analysis that finance traders use to analyze financial market cycles and forecast market trends by identifying extremes in investor psychology, highs and lows in prices, and other collective factors. Ralph Nelson Elliott — , a professional accountant, discovered the underlying social principles and developed the analytical tools in the s. He proposed that market prices unfold in specific patterns, which practitioners today call Elliott waves , or simply waves. Elliott published his theory of market behavior in the book The Wave Principle in , summarized it in a series of articles in Financial World magazine in , and covered it most comprehensively in his final major work, Nature's Laws: The Secret of the Universe in Elliott stated that "because man is subject to rhythmical procedure, calculations having to do with his activities can be projected far into the future with a justification and certainty heretofore unattainable.
